Contract | Days | 5x8 Hours | Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services on a Medical Rehabilitation Unit within a trauma hospital setting
• Treat a caseload of up to 5 patients per day, with typical daily census of 3–4 patients; sessions approximately 90 minutes each
• Work primarily with stroke patients, who comprise approximately 40% of the patient population
• Document patient care and progress using Cerner electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active West Virginia Physical Therapist license required prior to start date (pending license accepted for submission)
• Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience required
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1–March 31); medical exemption accepted with documentation from an allergist or physician
• Must maintain a permanent address greater than 100 miles from the facility; candidates residing 75–100 miles away may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Former permanent employees of the health system must have a minimum 2-year gap from last date of permanent employment before being eligible as a traveler

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with stroke or neurological patient populations
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
• Experience in an inpatient rehabilitation or acute care hospital environment
