Position Overview

MP Engineers + is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our Civil Highway Department. This role involves the design, planning, and coordination of highway, transportation, and civil/site infrastructure projects. The position works directly on projects supporting key public agency clients, including NYCDDC, NYCDOT, and NYSDOT.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute design, planning, and project coordination for highway, transportation, and civil/site infrastructure projects.
\n
• Support all phases of major development and construction projects, encompassing preconstruction, construction, and post-construction operations.
\n
• Produce and review engineering designs for roadways, highways, traffic systems, and utility infrastructure adhering to New York City street standards.
\n
• Collaborate with project managers, multidisciplinary engineering teams, and agency stakeholders to ensure adherence to municipal agency requirements.
\n

Qualifications & Requirements

\n
• Education & Credentials: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
\n
• Experience: 2 to 3 years of comprehensive civil engineering experience across roadway, highway, traffic, and utility projects.
\n
• Agency Familiarity: Experience working with or preparing deliverables for NYC and NYS public agencies, such as NYCDDC, NYCDOT, or NYSDOT.
\n
• Project Lifecycle Knowledge: Hands-on exposure across preconstruction, active construction support, and post-construction phases.
\n

Technical Proficiency

\n
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design using AutoCAD .
\n
• Experience with 3D roadway modeling using Bentley OpenRoads .
\n
• Familiarity with project scheduling and planning via Primavera .
\n
